Qualification Overview

The aim of the Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Aesthetic Practice Core Knowledge and Advanced Skin Science (RQF) is to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding required for safe aesthetic practice. Advanced skin science will enhance the learner’s knowledge of the physiology of skin conditions relating to aesthetic practice.

Qualification Structure

To achieve the Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Aesthetic Practice Core Knowledge and Advanced Skin Science (RQF) learners must complete 2 mandatory units to achieve a total of 21 credits.

 Learner Entry Requirements

Learners must have previously completed and achieved an anatomy and physiology qualification at a minimum of Level 3, with a core knowledge of facial anatomy. 

 Progression Routes

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:

• Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Enhancing Eyebrows with Microblading Techniques (RQF)

• Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Micropigmentation (RQF)

• Focus Awards Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments (RQF)

• Focus Awards Level 4 Diploma in Managing a Salon Business (RQF)

• Focus Awards Level 4 Diploma in Advanced Skin Science and Aesthetic Procedures (RQF)

 Age Ranges

Entry is at the discretion of the centre; however, learners should be at least 18 to undertake this qualification.
